The second-generation Vision Pro is reportedly aiming for a sub-$2,000 price point by tethering some processing to a connected iPhone. Internal prototypes are described as "noticeably lighter," with a redesigned strap that better distributes weight across the head.
Timing
Don't expect this until late 2027 at the earliest. Apple is still working through the optical stack and battery integration.
