Affiliate Policy

That Apple Guide ("we," "us," or "our") publishes news, reviews, guides, and deals about Apple products and the broader Apple ecosystem. To help fund our independent reporting, some articles on thatappleguide.com (the "Site") contain affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you.
That Apple Guide is an independent publication and is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special URL that lets a retailer or program know that a visitor arrived from our Site. If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same as if you had visited the retailer directly.
Programs we participate in
We may participate in a number of affiliate and partner programs, which can change over time. These typically include programs run by retailers and networks such as Amazon Associates, Apple's own affiliate partners (where available), and other consumer-electronics retailers and affiliate networks.
Some programs require specific disclosures. As an Amazon Associate, for example, we earn from qualifying purchases. Where a specific disclosure is required for a program, we follow that program's requirements in addition to the general policy on this page.
How we identify affiliate links
Articles that contain affiliate links may include a brief note at the top or bottom of the article indicating that some links earn us a commission. Individual product links — for example, "Buy on Amazon" or "Check price at Best Buy" buttons in deal posts and buying guides — should be assumed to be affiliate links unless stated otherwise.
Outbound links to news sources, manufacturer pages, support articles, documentation, and similar reference material are generally not affiliate links.
Editorial independence
Affiliate revenue does not influence our editorial coverage. To be specific:
- We choose what to write about based on what we think is interesting or useful to readers — not based on which products pay the highest commission.
- Our reviews, recommendations, and opinions are our own. A negative review of a product whose retailer has an affiliate program is still a negative review.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. If a piece is sponsored, paid for, or otherwise produced in partnership with a brand, that relationship will be clearly disclosed in the article itself.
- Free review samples, when accepted, are returned to the manufacturer or disclosed in the relevant article. They do not obligate us to publish a positive review.
Pricing and availability
Prices, discounts, and availability mentioned in articles are accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication but can change at any time without notice. Always confirm the current price and terms on the retailer's page before completing a purchase. We are not responsible for errors, price changes, out-of-stock items, or differences between retailers.
FTC disclosure
In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising" (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose that some links on this Site are affiliate links and we may earn commissions from qualifying purchases made through those links. This disclosure applies to all articles on the Site, past and future, in addition to any article-specific disclosures.
Your choices
You are never required to use our affiliate links. You can always navigate directly to a retailer's website to make a purchase. Using our links is one way to support independent Apple coverage at no extra cost to you, and we appreciate it when readers choose to do so.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Affiliate Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
