Apple has begun sending media invitations for its 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference, confirming the keynote will start at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on June 8. The invitations carry the tagline "Coming bright up," and the company has also published the full schedule for the week.

WWDC 2026 will run from June 8 through June 12. Members of the press have been invited to gather at Apple Park for an in-person viewing of the keynote, which has been pre-recorded in recent years rather than presented live.

The keynote and Platforms State of the Union

The opening keynote at 10:00 a.m. PDT is where Apple is expected to introduce its next round of software updates, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. The keynote will stream on Apple.com, the Apple TV app, and Apple's YouTube channel.

Later the same day, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, Apple will host the Platforms State of the Union. The event traditionally goes deeper into new APIs and developer technologies. It will be available through the Apple Developer app, Apple's website, the Apple YouTube channel, and Bilibili.

What "Coming bright up" might hint at

The tagline is cryptic, as Apple's event taglines typically are. The invitation art features the "WWDC 26" wordmark inside a brightly glowing circle, which several outlets have read as a possible visual hint at the long awaited Siri overhaul rumored for iOS 27. Apple has not commented on the meaning of the tagline.

Reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and others have suggested that WWDC 2026 will be focused heavily on a redesigned Siri, with deeper Apple Intelligence integration across the operating systems. Whether that connects to the "bright" theme remains to be seen.

Group Labs and the Apple Design Awards

Throughout the week, Apple will release video sessions and guides hosted by Apple engineers and designers. Group Labs, which consist of live online presentations and Q&A sessions, will run from Tuesday through Friday.

The Apple Design Awards return as part of the WWDC week, with 36 finalists this year recognized for craft, creativity, and technical execution.

A transitional WWDC

WWDC 2026 is widely expected to be Tim Cook's final developer conference as Apple CEO. Cook is set to hand the role to incoming CEO John Ternus on September 1, 2026, according to reports. It is not yet clear what role, if any, Ternus will play in the keynote itself.

The next major software releases are expected to ship to the public in the fall, following the standard developer and public beta cycles that begin shortly after the keynote.
