Apple TV today released a trailer for "Lucky," an upcoming crime limited series starring and executive produced by Anya Taylor-Joy.

The series premieres globally on Wednesday, July 15, with its first two episodes. New episodes will then follow weekly through August 19.

The premise

"Lucky" follows a con artist named Lucky, played by Taylor-Joy, whose life unravels after a multimillion dollar heist goes sideways. According to Apple, she is forced to go on the run, pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss as she fights for her life and a way out.

The limited series is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley. It was created by Jonathan Tropper, who also created the Apple TV drama "Your Friends & Neighbors."

Cast

Alongside Taylor-Joy, the series stars Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr., and William Fichtner.

The role marks a notable return to television for Taylor-Joy, whose breakout came in Netflix's "The Queen's Gambit." Her only previous Apple project was the film "The Gorge," which premiered last year.

"Lucky" arrives during one of Apple TV's most crowded original lineups to date.

A third season of the sci-fi series Silo begins Friday, July 3, and a fourth season of Ted Lasso is set to kick off Wednesday, August 5.

Apple TV is priced at $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the U.S., with a free trial available to new subscribers. The service is also included in the Apple One bundle.
