Physical dummy models of the iPhone 18 Pro surfaced today in the device's four rumored colors, offering the first look at the lineup in real world form rather than in renders or supply chain descriptions. The images were shared by leaker Sonny Dickson.

The dummies show the iPhone 18 Pro Max in:

matching shades that have circulated in reports for months. Dickson said "Cherry will probably be the next hit, orange did very well," a nod to the Cosmic Orange finish that anchored the iPhone 17 Pro lineup and proved popular with customers, particularly in China.

The four colors

Apple is said to be working from a set of internal Pantone codes for the palette, according to reporting from Macworld. Light Blue (Pantone 2121) has been compared to the Mist Blue of the current iPhone 17, though some observers see a resemblance to the Sierra Blue of the iPhone 13 Pro.

The rest of the lineup consists of Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076), Dark Gray (Pantone 426C), and Silver (Pantone 427C). The silver is expected to look close to the current generation, and the dark gray reads as a near black finish in Dickson's photos.

Where Dark Cherry came from

Dark Cherry is expected to serve as the headline new color this year. The shade has been in the rumor mill since at least February 2026, when Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple was testing a deep red finish for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Gurman initially described it simply as a deep red.

A Chinese leaker later indicated the color was very likely to make the cut, noting that Android rivals were already prototyping a similar shade. The picture sharpened in April, when Macworld reported the name Dark Cherry and described it as closer to wine than a bright red, and considerably more muted than Cosmic Orange.

The leaker known as "Instant Digital" subsequently corroborated the name, characterizing the finish as a blend of burgundy, coffee, and deep purple. That leaker has a solid track record on Apple color rumors, having accurately predicted the yellow finish for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Why the dummies come with a caveat

Dummy models are produced for accessory and case makers ahead of Apple's hardware events, typically built from CAD specifications that leak out of the supply chain. They are not made by Apple, and they are usually constructed from plastic or low quality metal rather than the glass and aluminum of a finished phone. As a result, the exact tone and saturation of each color could shift by the time production units ship.

Even with that caveat, the dummies are consistent with the earlier reports, which suggests the four color palette is close to final. The camera plateau and three lens array on the units also indicate they represent the Pro and Pro Max rather than the standard iPhone 18.
