Star City, the For All Mankind Spinoff, Premieres on Apple TV
Apple TV has premiered Star City, a spinoff of the alternate history space race drama For All Mankind.

Apple TV has premiered Star City, a spinoff of the alternate history space race drama For All Mankind. The first two episodes of the eight episode first season are now available to stream.

What Star City is about
Star City revisits the same alternate timeline as For All Mankind, in which the Soviet Union beats the United States to the Moon. This time, the story is told from behind the Iron Curtain, following the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers inside the Soviet space program.
Apple describes the series as "a propulsive, paranoid thriller" set at the moment the Soviet Union became the first nation to land a man on the Moon. The show takes its name from the real Soviet cosmonaut training center outside Moscow.
Early reviews have been predominantly positive, with critics describing Star City as a darker, more espionage driven companion to For All Mankind rather than a straightforward retelling from the other side.

Cast and creators
Star City comes from For All Mankind creators Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners, while Moore is an executive producer. Sony Pictures Television is the studio.
The cast is led by Rhys Ifans as the Chief Designer of the Soviet space program, a character modeled on real life space chief Sergei Korolev. Anna Maxwell Martin plays KGB surveillance head Lyudmilla Raskova. The ensemble also includes Agnes O'Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara.
Release schedule
The series launched globally on Apple TV with two episodes. New episodes will arrive weekly on Fridays through the season finale on July 10.
Star City was first announced in April 2024, alongside the renewal of For All Mankind for a fifth season. That makes it more than two years between the announcement and the premiere.
How to watch
Star City and For All Mankind are both streaming on Apple TV, which is available for $12.99 per month. For All Mankind debuted in 2019 and is set to air its sixth and final season in 2027.
